Though the Summer Olympians have packed up and gone home, FRIENDS is still charging over hurdles to reach the finish line for our historic district expansion! Please attend the upcoming FULL community board meeting to show your support.

Thank you to those who attended the Community Board Landmarks Committee meeting on July 21st. Because of you it was a resounding success with a packed house of supporters. BUT IT’S NOT OVER YET! The FULL Community Board 8 is meeting to vote on the proposal. With their approval, we can show the Landmarks Preservation Commission how much our neighborhood wants and needs historic district protection to fight the increasing threat of inappropriate and out-of-scale development.
Public testimony will be taken beginning at 6:30 p.m. Those who wish to speak during the Public Session must register to do so by 6:45 p.m. Even if you don’t plan to speak, numbers count, so please come to show that you care about the future of your neighborhood!
